MILWAUKIE, Ore. – A Milwaukie High School math teacher was charged Wednesday with abuse for having a sex with an underage student.

Christopher Klitgord, 29, was arraigned on two counts of second degree sex abuse after police arrested him at his Portland apartment on Tuesday.

Investigators said a 16-year-old girl told a school resource officer about an ongoing sexual relationship in February.

In recorded phone calls detectives said the girl told Klitgord that police were trying to contact her. Klitgord is quoted by police as saying “deny all of that,” and asked her, “did you erase everything on your phone, text messages etc.?”

Multnomah County

Klitgord was held on $100,000 bail and was placed on administrative leave from his job.

Investigators said they did not think he had any other relationships with students, but asked anyone with information to call Milwaukie Police.
