FBI: Child porn suspect flew in victims for sex

A Los Angeles man was arrested in Portland this week charged with child pornography amid accusations he flew underage victims to him for sex.
The FBI arrested 46-year-old David Leonard and planned to transfer him to L.A. to face federal charges.
Investigators said they got a tip in 1999 from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s “Cybertip” line that Leonard was making suggestive and lewd comments to underage girls in a chatroom called the Hollywood Café.
Agents identified Leonard after looking up the screen name ‘stigmataxy.’ They said he had several relationships with minors, whom he gave airline tickets, credit card information and digital cameras so they could send pornographic pictures to him.

Investigators searched Leonard’s Long Beach home in 2002 and said they found child porn and information about his victims.
Police think he had met victims in Long Beach, San Jose and Portland. Agents were looking for more possible victims in the case.
Leonard was released after a Portland court appearance and was expected back in Los Angeles later in April.
