Portland-based Marine killed in east Africa

The Pentagon Wednesday was investigating the death of a Portland-based Marine who died in the east African country of Djibouti.
Lance Cpl. Dustin L. Canham, 21, of Lake Stevens, Washington died on Saturday. Officials said he was not killed in combat.

Canham was serving with the Marine Reserve's 6th Engineer Support Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group to support Operation Enduring Freedom.
Canham was the brother of Oregon State University baseball catcher Mitch Canham, who played for the College World Series-winning team.
