Sen. Hillary Clinton talks one-on-one with KGW

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton now says she made a mistake in claiming that she came under hostile fire in Bosnia 12 years ago when she was first lady.
The candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination spoke with KGW Tuesday, addressing the Bosnia question and also answering questions about the Medicare shortfall, saying that high insurance and drug premiums were likely to blame.
In several recent interviews, the New York senator had described a harrowing scene in Bosnia in which she and her daughter, Chelsea, had to run for cover as soon as they landed for a visit in 1996.
But video footage of the day showed a peaceful reception in which Clinton greeted a young child on the tarmac.
“I don’t think it does at all, you know I have written about this and I left a few words out, there was the threat of sniper fire,” she told KGW Tuesday. “(Such mistakes) happen in life, it happens in campaigns I don’t think it’s a big deal.”

She said she planned to visit Oregon within two weeks as the primary draws near.
