A methamphetamine suspect accused of trying to steal car parts was arrested Wednesday

It happened at the U-Pull-it, U-Save off Highway 212 and Highway 26 in Boring Wednesday morning.

Clackamas County

According to Clackamas County deputies, witnesses saw the business owner chasing a man near Highway 26. Deputies found 29-year-old Neal Anthony Lee under a tree near SE 312th. He had a warrant out for a meth charge.

Owner Ron Barber said he was monitoring his property when he saw an abandoned bike and then spotted the suspect inside his yard.

Police said they found evidence that Lee had been stealing metal parts and collecting them in a pile, and he was equipped with a light covered with grease at the time.

The suspect was apparently after some catalytic converters, Barber said. He added that most often the suspected criminals use the trees or a ladder along the fence outside his business to make their way in.

Lee was charged with burglary and the previous drug possession charge and taken to the Clackamas County Jail.
