Friends and family described 31-year-old Angela Svendsen as a born violinist. Her mother said she mastered her first song, “Twinkle, twinkle, little star,” at the age of just three. Many of her students played the song during Sunday’s memorial service.

Angela’s career included work with the Oregon Ballet Theatre and the Eugene Symphony.

On February 11th, Angela was returning from a symphony rehearsal in Eugene with two other symphony members when they were hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver who was driving the wrong way.

Sunday, a packed house at the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics honored and celebrated her life.

“In life it's real easy to put the important stuff on the back burner,” said Angela’s husband Erik. They couple had been married for nine years. “It's so important to take the time to cherish your loved ones and really don't take any of that time for granted."

During the memorial, Angela’s violin sat center stage, along with several pairs of her shoes, trademarks of two of her favorite things, music and fashion.
