Monica Carlson, 32, of Milwaukie, has been racking up the points not only among her fellow competitors, but against the gladiators, too.

She is one of 26 contestants vying for $100,000 in prize money. First, she won her debut competion and Monday, she won big again, advancing into the finals.

"I was so excited, I love American Gladiators, grew up with it, one of those things I fantasized as a child ‘gosh, wouldn't that be amazing’," she told KGW.

Poll: What do you think of the new American Gladiators?

She's sworn to secrecy and can't say how far she made it, but said the experience is one she'll cherish forever.

“It’s all about the athletics and the sportsmanship and that's what I loved about it. It was truly what it says it is, you go out and fight for your life and you win or you lose.”

Carlson has eight-year-old twins and said when she was growing up, “American Gladiators” was her favorite show. Her husband is a football coach and athletics plays a large part in the family.

One of 11 kids growing up, Carlson has worked hard to stay in great shape and loves competition.
