GRESHAM – Investigators believe the driver of an SUV was at fault in a serious crash that sent four people to the hospital Wednesday morning, including a five-year-old girl.

Raw: Scene of the wreck

A Saturn Coupe was southbound on Southeast 282nd Avenue at the intersection with Stone Road as a Chevy Tahoe traveled eastbound on Stone Rd. at the intersection with 282 Ave., said Multnomah County Sheriff's Deputy Travis Gullberg.

According to Gullberg, the Tahoe driver did not stop at a stop sign and T-boned the Saturn.

The Tahoe driver was identified as 33-year-old Aileen Eimil. She was cited for careless driving and not having a child in a proper safety restraint. Her 5-year-old passenger was riding in the front seat of the Tahoe without a booster seat, Gullberg said.

The Saturn Coupe was driven by 18-year-old Matthew Blubaugh. He and his teenage passenger, whose name was not released, had to be cut out of the car. The passenger was transported to the hospital via LifeFlight air ambulance helicopter with possible life-threatening injuries, Gullberg said.

All four people were transported to the hospital with serious or critical injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

The intersection of Southeast 282nd Avenue and Stone Road was shut down as investigators combed through the wreckage.

Gullberg said speed and weather did not appear to have been factors in the crash.
