GRESHAM – A man called 911 from northeast Portland Saturday morning reporting that he had killed someone, police said.

Inside the residence, located in the 4100 block of NE El Camino, police found Virginia Roberts, 51, dead from a gunshot wound.

The victim's husband, John L Roberts, 51, was also at the scene. Officers took him into custody. He was lodged in jail on a murder charge.

Police have not released any possible motive.

The investigation continues.
