Reward offered for mother of abandoned baby

A baby found abandoned at the door of a nursing home this month has developed medical problems and police offered up to $1,000 for tips leading to the mother.

They said they may be better able to treat the infant if they have some family medical history.
Medical personnel believe the baby, who was wrapped in a towel, was found a few hours after being born.

The reward was offered by the Portland Police Bureau and Crime Stoppers.
The infant is in foster care. The Department of Human Services is making the child available for adoption.
