It has not been a banner year for the rest of the nation's ski industry, especially on the East coast.
Michael Berry is president of the National Ski Areas Association, based in Lakewood, Colorado.
He says several ski operators on the East Coast have not yet reached full operations due to poor snow conditions.
Berry says the Western half of the U.S. is good, although California, he says, could use more snow. Berry said "The Pacific Northwest is feeling giddy about its snow conditions right now."
Oregon, Washington and British Columbia have more snow than any ski region in the country.
The state of Oregon appears on pace to match or eclipse last year's record of 1.1 million ski visitors.
