10:17 AM PST on Monday, January 14, 2008
MOUNT ASHLAND, Ore. -- He was cold and wet when rescue teams found him on Mount Ashland over the weekend.
But authorities say 15-year-old Dallas Boylen is doing well after being lost for five hours. The boy lost his bearings while skiing Saturday.
The ski patrol was the first to find him by following tracks in the snow, then search and rescue arrived on scene.
But Boylen was a lucky skier this weekend
Deschutes County sheriff's authorities say a 27-year-old downhill skier from Central Oregon died after colliding with a tree on a southwest slope of Mount Bachelor.
The Mount Bachelor Ski Patrol and others tried to revive the man, but he died at the scene.
The sheriff's office says it will release the man's name after his relatives are notified.
