LOON LAKE, Wash. -- Homeowners saved the life of a young bull moose that fell through the ice on Loon Lake. The moose, which was estimated to be 3 years old, broke through about 50 yards from shore.
Rescuers rushed to the scene and went out on the ice in a small boat. They used axes and chainsaws the cut a path through the ice so the moose could swim to shallower water.
