Beaverton bank robber escapes
11:35 AM PST on Monday, January 12, 2009
BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A man robbed a US Bank in Beaverton Monday morning and then managed to elude police dogs trying to track him.
Police said the man entered the US Bank at 8205 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway just before 10 a.m. and handed a teller a demand note.
The teller did not see a weapon but gave the money to the suspect.
Police were alerted and arrived just moments after the suspect left the bank.
“A dog track was done but had negative results in locating anyone,” said Detective Pam Yazzolino with the Beaverton Police Department.
She described the suspect as a white man in his late 20's to early 30's, standing approximately 6'0" tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, glasses and a red Nike baseball cap with a white "swoosh" on the front.
The FBI has taken over the investigation.
