Construction begins for new Tualatin commuter rail

TUALATIN, Ore. -- Construction is set to begin on the fourth of five stations on a commuter rail line scheduled to provide rush-hour service in Washington County.
The work will begin this week at the Tualatin station and park and ride.
The 14.7-mile Washington County Commuter Rail line is to open in the fall of 2008. It will connect Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin and Wilsonville.
Weekday rush hour trains will run every 30 minutes and connect with 11 bus lines and the MAX system in Beaverton, as well as local bus service at the other four stations.
