School districts to make up missed days

School districts across Oregon began the new year trying to figure out how to deal with school days missed at the end of 2008 due to snow.
Students in the Salem-Keizer district missed five days of school. The district decided that at least three days will be made up at the end of the school year.
The Evergreen School District missed two school days, and those will be made up at the end of the school year. Absent any further weather events, the last school day was extended to June 18.
Vancouver students missed two days and those will be made up on January 30 (all students except high school on this day) and May 22 (all students).
The David Douglas School District missed three days and officials there told KGW they did not plan to make up those days.
Portland was a tale of two cities during the winter storm. Students west of the Willamette River missed five days, while Portland students on the east side of the river only missed three days.
School district leaders were reportedly considering making up three of the missed days, and they were scheduled to meet Tuesday.
