Pedestrian hit by car in SE Portland

A pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle and seriously injured around 5 p.m. Sunday evening along SE 117th and Alder Street in Portland.
Sergeant Brian Schmautz with the Portland Police Bureau said that a 49-year-old woman believed to be a transient was wearing dark clothing and pushing a cart when she was hit by the motorist.
The woman was taken to OHSU hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police said neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors in the crash.
The driver remained at the scene and no citations had been issued.
