Washington County Sheriff's deputies shot and killed 37-year-old Steve Stanturf after they said he fired on them when they responded to his home.
A department spokesman says Corporals Steve Schuster and Mark Trost fired a combined four shots at 37-year-old Steve Stanturf, and three hit him.
Investigator says the deputies shot Stanturf after he fired three rounds at them from his front porch.
The deputies had gone to Stanturf's house because a relative was concerned that he would commit suicide.
Deputies had been to the Stanturf house earlier in the evening because of a domestic disturbance that ended with the man's wife and children leaving the house.
