Highway 26 reopens after accident involving flipped van
10:45 AM PDT on Wednesday, August 13, 2008
BEAVERTON, Ore. – Highway 26 reopened late Wednesday morning after a box van rear-ended another van and flipped it over, bringing eastbound traffic to a standstill.
Two rental box vans were traveling one after another when traffic ahead started slowing due to an earlier incident involving a Beaverton police officer who was struck by flying metal near the 185th Street exit.
One box van stopped but the one behind it didn’t. It rear-ended the first van and flipped it over, according to Beaverton Police Sgt. Pam Judge.
No one was seriously injured in that incident, she said.
The officer struck by debris was transported to the hospital. His injuries not life-threatening, according to authorities.
