Police said a man wanted for a traffic violation triggered a short chase with police around 8:15 a.m. Later, the man ran from the vehicle but police were able to question his female passenger.

A very short time after the man ran from the vehicle, a nearby Roundtable Pizza restaurant at SW Allen and SW Murray was robbed by a man with a similar description to the pursuit suspect, according to police.

Authorities are not certain whether it was the same man.

The chase suspect’s passenger told police where to find the man and officers surrounded his relative's Beaverton house at 13325 Second Street, where he was allegedly hiding.

The Tactical Negotiations Team was called to try to get him to surrender.

The suspect's relatives identified him as 29-years old Timothy Painter. Relatives said he surrendered to police without incident around 3 p.m.

"I guess he got pulled over right over there and they said that he pulled a gun out on them and that he fits the description of somebody who robbed Round Table Pizza," said Sara Garfias. "I know he didn't pull out a gun because he doesn't have a gun."
