BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a 62-year-old Beaverton woman drove into her neighbor's living room.
Sgt. Bob Ray says Shirley Battilega backed out of her driveway Monday and thought she had her automatic transmission in drive instead of reverse. She accelerated with her tires turned, causing the SUV to speed backward through her next-door neighbor's living-room window.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue had to extricate the driver from the SUV, but neither she nor the two people in the house were injured.
The vehicle had to be towed from the living room.
