The suspect, Michael James Loftin, had actually been chatting with a police officer impersonating a teen during an online sex sting, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
Loftin is director of operations at the Beaverton office of Arris, Inc., a global communications technology company specializing in the design and engineering of broadband networks.
"We hope it proves to not be true,” said Ganes Carter, Senior Council for Arris Group, regarding the allegations.
Loftin bailed himself out of jail on Thursday, authorities siad.
He will be in Washington County court on June 30.
