HILLSBORO -- A beaten pit bull was taken to a vet as its owner was arrested for animal abuse Tuesday.

According to investigators, Nagy told them he did not even have a dog, but later admitted the pit bull “Kahuna” was his. Police said he had blood smeared on his hands and shoes at the time.

Nagy was arrested for animal abuse, and felon in possession of weapons charges after police found a rifle in his home. Nagy has prior drug convictions.
