The robber walked into a Hazel Dell Check In To Cash business at 2:40 p.m. and told the clerk, "Give me all your money."
At first, the clerk first thought it was a joke. Then the suspect pointed a handgun at her face.
She opened the cash register as the suspect emptied the money into a bag.
“After the suspect got the money, he then grabbed the cashier moving her around the interior of the store demanding the store's video surveillance tape,” said Sgt. Scott Schanaker with the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
The cashier initially told the suspect there was no surveillance tape. When the robber found the store's VCR, he slammed the cashier's head into a nearby sink for "lying" to him, Schanaker said.
The suspect fled with the video tape and bag of cash. He was described as a 20 to 30-year-old black man standing about 6 feet tall with a medium build and wearing a black zippered hoodie and blue jeans. He had a mustache and small beard.
Deputies searched for the suspect but couldn’t find him and believe he drove away in a car parked nearby.
The cashier's injuries are not serious, Schanaker said.
