Young boy killed in Lewis Co. dump truck crash
12:02 PM PDT on Sunday, July 27, 2008
TOLEDO, Wash. -- A 9-year-old boy was killed when a dump truck rolled off of a Lewis County logging road Saturday.
Deputies said it happened just before 11 a.m. when a 31-year-old Mossyrock man was making a downhill turn on Weyerhaeuser 516 Road in the loaded truck.
The brakes couldn’t slow the truck enough to stop and it rolled onto the passenger side, according to investigators.
The boy died from head injuries at the scene. His father was taken to a Vancouver hospital.
Police continued to investigate.
