VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A suspect linked to the armed robberies of four Vancouver-area pharmacies has been arrested, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.

Vancouver pharmacy robber arrested

Harold Andres, 47, was arrested by sheriff's deputies and a SWAT team at the Rolling Creek Apartments in Vancouver on Wednesday night.

A confidential informant tipped authorities off to Andres' involvement in the robberies, sheriff's deputies said.

Andres was possibly involved in the hold-up of a Vancouver Safeway pharmacy Monday evening. During the holdup a gunman demanded large quantities of Oxycontin and threatened to kill three employees, according to police reports.

"We're really happy that nobody got hurt. That was our biggest fear -- that he was going to escalate his tactics further and actually hurt somebody," said Sgt. Duncan Hoss with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. "He scared a lot of people but he didn't hurt anybody, and now he won't because he's in custody."
