Tim Terrell says he took his raft on the Columbia River Sunday afternoon. He returned to his 2004 Volkswagen Jetta around 3:30 p.m. to find a bullet on the trunk and another on the passenger seat.
Authorities say the bullets appeared to have been fired from a 9 millimeter pistol.
In an e-mail message, Terrell said no one knew he was on the river Sunday and it must have been a random drive-by shooting.
Terrell says nothing was stolen from the car.
