Not guilty plea entered in Vancouver teen's skateboarding death
11:58 AM PDT on Monday, April 14, 2008
A Vancouver teen on Monday pleaded not guilty to charges he accidentally ran over and killed a friend last summer.
The 17-year-old was arraigned in a Clark County court Monday morning.
The accident happened near NE 29th Avenue and NE 139th Street last August when 16-year-old Joseph Madison was “skitching,” hanging onto the car while on a skateboard.
The car hit a dip in the road when Madison lost his grip, fell and hit his head on the pavement. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
He faces charges that carry a maximum of 30-days in juvenile detention.
KGW is not naming the suspect, since he is a juvenile.
