Driver arrested for DUI after facing drunk driving charge in court
06:15 PM PDT on Friday, April 11, 2008
VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A Vancouver woman accused of driving drunk was arrested again for the crime while driving home from a court appearance on the original charge Friday morning.
Washington State troopers pulled over 27-year-old Darla Peck around 11:30 a.m. for speeding on SR 501.
The officer said he recognized the car and driver from a stop on Wednesday, when he cited Peck for DUI and driving with a suspended license. Peck told the officer she had been in court earlier in the morning to face those charges, and was returning the car to her sister, according to police.
The trooper thought he smelled booze on her breath and did a search of the car. That’s when he said he found a marijuana pipe and small bag of the drug.

Peck refused a breath test, but was rearrested and booked into jail on the new charges of DUI, driving while suspended, and drug possession charges.
