Wash. boy snitches on mom for growing pot
12:25 PM PDT on Monday, April 7, 2008
A 14-year-old boy upset when his mother threatened to send him to military school invited police over to see the pot she was growing in their home, according to a report in the Kitsap Sun Newspaper.
The boy called 9-1-1 and told on his mother.
The report in the Sun said the boy told the deputy who came to their home that he was angry his mother was trying to discipline him for skipping class and talking back, and that’s why he decided to rat her out.
At first, the 34-year-old woman said she only smoked marijuana and refused to let the deputy search the home, according to the Sun article. But then she changed her mind and led the deputy to the ten small marijuana plants in her closet.
According to the article, the mother also told the deputy "it is tough to get her son to respect authority when he knows she breaks the law growing pot."
The woman was cited but not arrested. She was also reported to Child Protective Services.
