Police say the five-year-old riding this bike died after she was hit by a truck.
Jim Flaherty with the Vancouver Fire Department told KGW that police and fire crews were dispatched to the residential area of 188th Ave and 11th Way in Vancouver just before 11:30 a.m. When they arrived on scene, Flaherty said, there were several people performing CPR on a five-year-old girl who had been badly injured.
Fire crews took over the rescue effort once on scene. Flaherty said the girl, identified as Selena Bailey, was put in an ambulance nine minutes after the initial call came in. She was transported to the hospital with what Flaherty described at critical injuries.

Sergeant Wayne Reynolds with Vancouver Police later told KGW Selena died at SW Washington Medical Center from severe head trauma.
Reynolds said 31-year-old Kenneth Johns from Vancouver was driving the 1999 Ford F350 truck that hit Selena while she was riding her bike with her twin sister. Johns, who lives in the neighborhood, remained on scene and was cooperating with with police.
Reynolds said Selena was not wearing a helmet when she was hit. It is not clear if a helmet would have saved her life.

Detectives were still investigating the incident but witnesses told police it appeared Selena was not aware of the truck as it was driving past her and she turned into it.
It was not clear whether charges would be filed but Reynolds did say that alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors.
Selena Bailey's family opened an account at U.S. Bank to pay for the girl's funeral. Selena's Uncle, Tyrone Bailey, said the girl's mother cannot afford to give her the funeral Selena deserved.
"You are talking about a single parent that had no idea seeing something like this happening," said Tyrone Bailey.
Donations can be made in Selena Bailey's name at any U.S. Bank branch.
