Man runs back into burning home to save dog

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A man was taken to the hospital with head injuries after trying to rush back into a burning home to save his dog Monday.
Clark County Fire & Rescue said the fire happened at the home on NE North Fork Avenue north of La Center just before 9 a.m.
The man told firefighters he got outside after the fire started, but realizing his dog was inside, ran back in and grabbed the pup.

The unidentified victim was taken to a Portland hospital with second-degree burns. The dog was taken to a local vet.
Firefighters said they had the fire under control in less than an hour. The cause was under investigation.
