07:44 AM PDT on Friday, August 29, 2008
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A coach for the West Coast Extreme All-Star Cheerleaders in Tigard has been convicted of federal sex abuse charges.
Prosecutors said 32-year-old David Aaron Chatman of Portland touched the breasts and genitals of a 16-year-old cheerleader on a flight from Chicago to Portland in April 2007.
Chatman was charged under federal law because the sexual abuse took place aboard an aircraft. A jury convicted him Thursday.
Chatman faces up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing was set for November 4.
