Woman killed, girl injured in Salem car crash

SALEM – A woman was killed and a girl injured Sunday in a two-car crash, deputies said.

Elaine Kuenzi, from Salem, was driving her Chrysler 300 southbound near the 9200 block of Howell Prairie Road NE when she collided with a northbound BMW, according to Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Kuenzi was pronounced dead on the scene and the 16-year-old girl driving the BMW was transported via life flight to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital.
The teen's name and condition were not released.
Crash investigators don’t yet know what caused the accident.
