Man killed in car crash near Aumsville

AUMSVILLE, Ore. –- One man was killed and two people were injured in a car crash near Aumsville, authorities said Tuesday.

Deputies found a passenger of a Plymouth Neon, Michael J. Johnston of Stayton, dead at the scene, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
The driver, Richard A. Groesbeck III, and passenger Brandy A. Keaton, were injured.
They were transported to Santiam Hospital, in Stayton, with non life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
Investigators believe the Plymouth Neon veered off West Stayton Road, went into a ditch and hit a tree.
The vehicle then rolled and came to rest on its top. The cause of crash was under investigation.
