Delta stopping SkyWest flight from Salem to Salt Lake
05:23 PM PDT on Friday, July 11, 2008
SALEM, Ore. -- Delta Air Lines says it is discontinuing its twice-daily SkyWest Airlines flights between Salem and Salt Lake City beginning Oct. 10.
The company said Friday that it is cutting less profitable flights because of increases in fuel prices.
Delta will try to contact all customers who are scheduled to fly on the discontinued legs. They will be offered alternative transportation or refunds.
The company will also offer its employees at the Salem airport the opportunity to transfer.
The cut is the latest of several limitations by carriers to smaller Oregon airports.
