02:07 PM PDT on Thursday, March 27, 2008
SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Salem police detectives have arrested a 42-year-old man on assault charges.
Police say the man is Eugene Schott, of Salem.
Salem Police Lieutenant Dave Okada says Schott had been involved in an assault incident where he is alleged to have threatened and hit another person with a firearm.
Okada says Schott also had an outstanding parole violation arrest warrant.
On Wednesday afternoon, Schott was located at a Salem residence. Okada says Schott had agreed to deliver a small quantity of methamphetamine to a detective.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Schott has been booked into the Marion County Jail.
