Community college student arrested for gun, making threats

ALBANY, Ore. -- Police arrested a 26-year-old community college student on weapons charges after remarks he made about school shootings.

Detectives said last Thursday a witness told security guards at Linn Benton Community College that Orion W. Cannon made threats and said he admired school shootings.
Police said Cannon planned to take a gun to the campus, and after searching his home, found and seized a .22 rifle.
Cannon was arrested and taken to jail for attempted unlawful use of a weapon.
