Huge tree falls on busy Salem road

A large tree fell in Salem Thursday morning, blocking a major road and causing traffic problems.

The tree covered the roadway in Salem.

A City of Salem Public Works crew was eventually to clear the tree and debris off Silverton Road NE, but not without closing all four lanes for some time.

The fallen tree also caused some damage to power lines.
