Pair burned in NE Portland travel trailer explosion
11:29 AM PDT on Wednesday, August 6, 2008
A woman, man and a boy were hospitalized Tuesday evening after an explosion inside their travel trailer in northeast Portland, authorities said.
All three suffered burns. But the boy's injuries did not appear to be serious, according to paramedics. The boy appeared to be about 10 years old, they told KGW.
The two adults were reported to be in serious condition and the boy was listed in good condition.
The force of the explosion actually split the trailer open.
Fire officials said there wasn't much of a fire because the explosion actually blew the fire out.
They said the woman was trying to light a stove inside the camping-style trailer and when she finally got the stove started, the trailer blew up.
It happened near 99th and Northeast Sandy Boulevard.
