Man shot in leg in Northeast Portland overnight
08:47 AM PDT on Wednesday, July 23, 2008
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police are investigating a shooting in Northeast Portland after a man showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Investigators said the man, described only as 33-years old, went to Portland Adventist Hospital with a gunshot wound in his upper thigh.
The victim, whose injuries were not life-threatening, talked to police and told them the shooting happened somewhere between SE 112th Avenue and SE Powell around 2 a.m., investigators said.
While looking for a crime scene, officers said they located a potential witness who gave them information that contradicted the victim's version of the events. So now they’re trying to put the pieces together to figure out exactly what did happen.
Officers have not released any suspect descriptions.
