PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Bend man is pregnant, again.

Thomas Beatie, who was born a female but changed gender in 1998, has told Barbara Walters that he’s expecting a second child.

Beatie made headlines around the world when he gave birth to daughter Susan on June 29.

In an interview he told Walters he did not return to a male hormone regimen after the birth in order to have another baby.

Beatie and his wife, Nancy, decided they wanted to start a family and he was artificially inseminated late last year.

Walters revealed Beatie was pregnant again on the TV talkshow, “The View.” A documentary about him is scheduled to air Friday night.
