Crash kills 3, injures 2 at Warm Springs

WARM SPRINGS, Ore. -- Three people died and two were injured when a van drifted off a highway on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation and overturned, police said.

The crash occurred shortly before noon Sunday, Warm Springs police said in a news release. All but one of the van's five occupants were thrown from the vehicle, police said.
Ellen Thompson, 66, Roscoe Thompson III, 31, and Alonzo Jim, 31, died at the scene, police said. All were from Warm Springs.
Avery Americanhorse was flown by helicopter to St. Charles Medical Center-Bend, where he was listed in critical condition Monday, officials said.
Raynelle Weaselhead, 19, was taken by ambulance to Mountain View Hospital in Madras, where she was in good condition Monday, a nursing supervisor told KTVZ-TV in Bend.
