A Bend man is in serious condition after an uninsured driver hit him with his car Thursday night, police said.

Leon Hopper, 32, was riding his bicycle northbound on 3rd Street and approaching Mt. Washington Drive when he was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Christopher Adams, 20, of Bend.

Hopper was transported to St.Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment.

Adams was issued a citation for driving without insurance and the crash investigation continues.
