How Pendleton makes its iconic merchandise

While many outdoor and apparel companies use contract factories in Southeast Asia, Pendleton Woolen Mills makes the bulk of its merchandise at company mills in Pendleton, Oregon, and Washougal, Washington.

The Business Journal recently took a tour of the Washougal mill, which employs 200.

The Portland-based company, which was founded in 1909, is in the news this week. It recently opened a Seattle store as part of an effort to refresh its brand.
