Report: Flynn splits from Trump lawyers; may mean cooperation with Mueller

Lawyers for Michael Flynn are no longer sharing information about the special counsel's probe with the president's lawyers, according to a report by the New York Times. The move may mean Flynn has begun cooperating with Robert Mueller.

Lawyers for Michael Flynn have reportedly stopped sharing information about the special counsel's investigation with the president's lawyers-- a move that may indicate Flynn plans to cooperate with Robert Mueller's probe, according to a Thanksgiving report published by the New York Times.

According to the report, lawyers for Flynn, the president's former national security advisor, had been sharing information with Trump's lawyers, a common practice during legal investigations, but recently ended the agreement.

Though there are other possible reasons for ending such a relationship, the Times reported the move led Trump lawyers to believe Flynn has, at the least, started discussing cooperation with special counsel Robert Mueller.

Lawyers for both Flynn and Trump declined requests for comment by the Times.

Flynn's interactions with Russia are at the center Mueller's investigation into the country's interference in the 2016 election.
