CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. – Clackamas Fire’s boat team rescued a kayaker stranded from the south shore of the Clackamas River Saturday afternoon.
The kayaker, 54, was spotted by a boater at around 5 p.m. Officials with Clackamas Fire said the kayaker was too weak to blow a whistle and was suffering from mild hypothermia when rescue crews arrived.
He was taken to a hospital but his condition was not immediately known.
The kayaker told crews he had been stranded for almost two hours after flipping his boat. He was wearing a life jacket and said it “saved my life,” officials said.
