Officials say a Milwaukie man was killed after his motorcycle struck a stalled car on Highway 212 near Clackamas Sunday evening.

Troopers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 212 and SE 130th Avenue according to a statement by Oregon State Police.

An initial investigation showed a Kia Rio driven by Uriy Dudko, 20, of West Plains, Missouri, was stalled in the left eastbound lane of Highway 212 before being struck by a Honda motorcycle piloted by Mitch Vandoren, 25, of Milwaukie.

Dudko got out of the Kia to check damage to the car, then returned to the vehicle and turned south onto SE 130th Avenue. He again exited his car to look at the crash scene, then drove away.

Dudko was stopped by a Happy Valley officer a short time later and arrested on charges of failure to perform duties of a driver to injured persons.

Vandoren was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators are considering speed as a contributing factor in the crash.

The highway was closed for more than three hours during the investigation.

Oregon State Police were assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Happy Valley Police Department, Oregon Department of Transportation and Clackamas County Fire.
