BEAVERTON, Ore. – Two burglary suspects were arrested after leading authorities on a pursuit through a Beaverton area neighborhood and causing a lockout at Jesuit High School Wednesday afternoon.

At around 1:50 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a homeowner finding two people inside his vacant home in the 9100 block of Southwest Meadow Lane in the West Slope community.

The suspects, a man and woman, got into a vehicle and fled, coming within feet of hitting a deputy, the sheriff’s office said.

During the pursuit, the man got out of the vehicle and ran on foot.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Lynsey Picket, stopped and was arrested after deputies surrounded her vehicle on a dead-end street.

A Beaverton police officer and his K-9 partner tracked the man who got out of the car for more than two hours but he was not found.

Nearby Jesuit High School was placed in a lockout for about 45 minutes as a precaution, deputies said.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a caller reported a man entered a Bi-Mart through the ceiling and ran out the front door.

Deputies believed that was the man they were looking for. About an hour later, a different K-9 officer located 30-year-old Cody Benton hiding in a shed in the 5000 block of Southwest Chestnut Avenue.

Benton was taken into custody booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.

Picket faces charges of burglary, manufacturing methamphetamine, attempt to allude, assaulting an officer and identity theft.
