The first photo we received from Sunday's race came with a story we thought we'd share (from KGW.com user marcy466):
Paxton Richards (turning 17 on March 14) is running in the Shamrock thanks to Dr. Belage at Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
His first run was the the Portland Marthon, 1-1/2 years ago. Shortly after, he collapsed at a Glencoe High School track practice and was diagnosed with WPD (a serious heart condition).
After surgery at OHSU/Doernbecher, he returned to the track/CX field in two weeks. Paxton ran Sunday in the 5K.
